Hannah  zodiac rviving

Hannah studied zoology at the University of Liverpool and gained a Masters in Natural History Illustration from the Royal College of Art, London.  She worked as an artist and mural painter for several years at Chester Zoo and in East Africa. She illustrated a guide book to Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda and did designs and posters for the East Africa Wildlfie Society. She now divides her time between doing artwork from her studio in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire and working as a wildlife guide, zodiac driver and expedition leader on small cruise ships. She visits the Antarctic peninsula and South Georgia annualy in the Austral summer and then heads north to cruise the shoreline of the UK, Norway and the Artcic, swaping penguin sightings for polar bears.

The bird art of Sheila Tilmouth and Hannah Lawson reflects the contrasting habitats found at latitudes 54° North and 54° South of the equator. Sheila Tilmouth depicts the abundance of birds that visit her exposed moorland garden on the edge of the Pennines whilst Hannah illustrates albatross, penguins and petrels found around the glacier clad sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia.
